- What does the percentage mean?
- AI likelihood, from 0 to 100. Low leans human, the middle is mixed or uncertain, high leans generated or heavily assisted. It is a signal, not proof.
- Which files can I drop?
- Writing (paste or .txt), PDFs and text documents, images, audio, and video. Video is scored from one still frame, not the full clip. Keep files under 12MB.
- Do I have to leave this site?
- No. Scanning happens in this tab. The file is read to produce a score, then discarded. We only keep an anonymous filename, file type, score, verdict and time for site stats.
- Do you store my essay?
- No. The file is discarded after the scan. We only keep anonymous stats: filename, type, score, verdict and time.
- Can I use this to fail a student?
- No. A score is not evidence of cheating. Talk to the student. Read the work. Use this as a first look, never as the only reason.
- Why do universities distrust detectors?
- Because a score is a signal, not evidence. Formal ESL writing can look smooth. Edited AI can hide. Short texts are unreliable. Treat the meter as a prompt to look closer.
- What if my PDF is a scan?
- If there is no selectable text, paste the writing instead. Image-only PDFs do not give us a paragraph to score.
- What does Mixed mean?
- Uncertain, or part-human / part-machine. Treat it as “look closer,” not “guilty.”
- Is this legally binding?
- No. It is a forensic estimate. Do not use it as the sole reason to fail a student, fire someone, or go to court.
- Why no account?
- Scanning is free and anonymous. Accounts are only for the site owner.
- Who is Iris?
- The assistant in the corner. She explains the site. She does not scan files — that is the drop zone's job.
